Abstract
The article describes social activity of Ukrainian female peasant during the revolution and civil war in the first quarter of the XX century. Motives and general forms of activity are discovered, moreover ideological and economic factors that formed the image of the “new woman” are outlined. The social moods that influenced the behavior and emotional state of female peasants are revealed while mechanisms for resisting stereotypes and ideological clichйs are identified.
